Charles Thangaraj joined the SEECM faculty in the fall semester of 2014. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering degrees in 2009 and 2005 from Colorado State University, respectively. He has a B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University (Formerly Bharathiyar University), earned in 2001. He joined RWU after working in the high-tech semiconductor industry for five years and a brief year and a half teaching opportunity at a prestigious undergraduate engineering school in Southern California.
Dr. Thangaraj's research focused on two broad areas, namely, semiconductor technology with a focus on optical interconnects and engineering system level modeling and design optimization. At RWU he focuses his research broadly in energy systems, particularly alternate/green energy systems adoption and embedded systems applications for humanitarian and quality-of-life improvement.
At RWU, he teaches courses in electrical engineering such as Circuit Theory, Engineering Electronics, Digital System Design and Microprocessors.
