Benjamin McPheron joined the SECCM faculty in Fall of 2014, following the completion of his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park in August 2014. His dissertation work studied the application of digital control systems to high magnetic field powered magnets as a step toward enabling Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in these systems. Dr. McPheron completed the majority of his hands on work at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida.
At RWU, Dr. McPheron has research interests in Applications of Dynamic Modeling and Control, Audio and Image Processing, Assistive Medical Devices, and Engineering Education.
Dr. McPheron teaches ENGR 115 – Computer Applications for Engineers, ENGR 240 – Circuit Theory and Lab, ENGR 360 – Signals and Systems, ENGR 424 – Digital Signal Processing, ENGR 445 – Dynamic Modeling and Control, and ENGR 460 – Electromagnetic Theory.
