Dr. Dorian Lee Jackson is an Assistant Professor of Foreign Languages (Spanish and Portuguese). His research interests include late twentieth and twenty-first century Brazilian and Latin American fiction, examining the portrayal of crime and violence in narco-fiction. His recent doctoral dissertation, The Other Side: An alternative approach to narco-narratives of Bolivia, Colombia, and Brazil, focuses on representations of non-traditional roles and locations of the drug trade as presented in Brazilian, Bolivian, and Colombian novels. At Roger Williams University, he teaches Spanish and Portuguese language courses at all levels, in addition to courses on Latin American and Luso-Brazilian literature and culture.
