The Center for Scholarship, Assessment, Learning, Teaching & Technology's  Instructional Design & Technologies unit works in concert with Learning Commons partners to continue to expand services to students and faculty and address the teaching and learning needs of an increasing adult learner population, a graduate curriculum and a distance online community through the web and through targeted onsite collaboration.  Our core services to fulfill these goals include:

  • Conduct ongoing faculty development sessions and events to support teaching and learning with technologies that are pedagogically/andragogically sound
  • Provide course-based multi-media support for faculty and students
  • Strive to provide exemplary customer service via phone, e-mail, text and walk-in troubleshooting and support for all instructional technologies for faculty and students
  • Provide outreach instructional technology support for all distance faculty and students (especially pertinent to a projected increase in Continuing Studies and Graduate enrollment)
  • Conduct ongoing instruction for faculty, students and staff on supported learning technologies, both onsite and virtual
  • Consult with faculty on course design best practices, including alternative delivery methodologies and accelerated scheduling
  • Integrate universal design principles for learning that encompass accessibility concerns
  • Provide custom e-portfolio consultation, design, and development to assess student learning for individual courses and programs
  • Administer Bridges/Sakai Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Administer enterprise instructional technologies including (but not limited to):
    • Panopto Lecture Capture
    • VeriCite Anti-Plagiarism
    • Google Apps for Education
    • Poll Everywhere
    • Qualtrics Survey Software
    • Meetings/Big Blue Button web conferencing
  • Support use of virtual technologies Voice Thread, Social Media tools (e.g. Facebook, Twitter)
  • Support use of Android/iOS mobile apps for learning and productivity
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging technologies and work with faculty to evaluate the best tools for the RWU learning environment
