The Department of Instructional Design has conducted the following Institutes and pilots for RWU faculty and staff.

E-Portfolio Institute - Summer 2010

Designed, developed and conducted a summer E-Portfolio Institute for 50 RWU faculty, staff and administrators. This Institute included three series of two-week, 20-hour programs in June and August to introduce the use of e-portfolios and digital storytelling to enhance student learning and broaden assessment strategies. Each participant created a professional e-portfolio and digital story of their learning journey.

SAAHP E-Portfolio Pilot - Spring 2010

Worked with School of Architecture dean and faculty to design and implement an e-portfolio pilot utilizing the Sakai course management system for 14 faculty and 205 students that will serve as a model for a virtual re-accreditation

E-Teaching Academy - Summer 2009

Developed and implemented a six-week e-Teaching Academy for 35 faculty, 2 librarians, 4 deans and two Bristol-Warren educators that focused on the pedagogy and tools involved in teaching online and hybrid courses. Intended to enhance and expand undergraduate course delivery options for current students as well as promote attraction of new student populations through targeting niche programming in areas such as nuclear power plant engineering, computer forensics, world architectural design and sustainability
