Job Title: Career Center Office Assistant


Special Skills Needed

Familiarity with computers is required: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access are preferred.  Must be dependable, adhere to a set schedule, have good organizational skills, and be willing to work in a busy and professional environment.  Students should have initiative, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment.  Must understand and adhere to strict confidentiality standards and be able to take direction and complete work with minimal supervision.

Job Description
Primary duties will include providing administrative assistance to the entire office to include: greeting guests and assisting other students and alumni in the Career Center Library, answering and placing phone calls, taking detailed messages, maintaining databases and files, scheduling appointments, and running on-campus errands. 

Students will also do special projects as directed, which may include assisting with details relating to Career Center programming efforts (marketing and reporting) or assisting with tasks relating to the Co-op/Internship Program. 

Students are expected to work collaboratively and professionally with staff and peers, seek out assignments when tasks are completed, and find a replacement if unable to work a scheduled shift.  Please note that completing homework assignments while at work in this fast-paced environment is highly discouraged.

Job Title: Career Center Web Assistant

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is required.  Familiarity with FrontPage and Web Content Management System is preferred.  Must be dependable, adhere to a set schedule, have good organizational skills, and be willing to work in a busy and professional environment.  Student should have initiative, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment.  Must understand and adhere to strict confidentiality standards and be able to take direction and complete work with minimal supervision.

Job Description
Maintain, update, and create content for sections of the Career Center website, to include managing forms, databases, and calendar of events.  Student will do special projects as directed and may be asked to assist in providing administrative assistance to the entire office when needed.  Students are expected to work collaboratively and professionally with staff and peers, seek out assignments when tasks are completed, and find a replacement if unable to work a scheduled shift.  Please note that completing homework assignments while at work in this fast-paced environment is highly discouraged.
