Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Student Programs and Leadership is to engage students in meaningful out of classroom experiences that foster student learning through social, intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and interpersonal development.  These experiences are designed to support the mission of the University and to promote civility, responsibility, character and leadership development, and community involvement.

Student Programs and Leadership Office Student Staff
Position requires students to do a variety of functions in and around the Office.  This work may involve clerical duties, graphic arts, box office operations at CEN events, and special projects. - maximum 20 hours/week. Categories include:

  • Office Assistant
  • Design Center Staff
  • Yearbook Staff
  • Yearbook Editor
  • Staff Assistant
  • Program Assistant

The Network Operation's Staff 
The Operation's Staff is the working arm of the Campus Entertainment Network.  It is responsible for implementing the programs and events planned by the programming branch of the Network, as well as most other events on campus.

  • Stage Crew - Students hired into the Stage Crew become part of the staff responsible for all of the physical set-up, operation, security, and break-down of events.  Also, interested Stage Crew members are eligible to join the more specialized Tech Crew which is responsible for the set-up and operation of the Student Programs and Leadership sound and lighting systems at select events.

  • Concierge Staff - Students hired into this branch are responsible for the important support services necessary to produce events. 

  • Hospitality Staff - responsible for the physical well-being of the performers/speakers/ bands and staff at events.  This staff is responsible for setting up dressing rooms; ordering, preparing and serving all food and beverages; and any additional hospitality needs during events.

  • Concessions Staff - responsible for all food and beverage concessions at select events.

  • Ticket Staff - responsible for advance ticket sales operations.
