King Philip

King Philip also affords you the opportunity to live in an apartment complex two miles off campus but still have all the benefits of living in a residence hall.  The shuttle bus runs between campus, King Philip and Almeida.

Living Space

King Philip consists of two separate buildings; one high-rise and one apartment building.  Approximately 200 residents live at King Philip.

The high-rise building has five floors; the first floor is comprised of efficiencies for single or double occupancy.  Each room has a kitchenette, private bathroom and private entrance.

The second floor has 12 double rooms.  Each room has a twin size bed, private bathroom and university supplied micro-fridge.

The third through fifth floors contain our suites.  There are four suites on each floor, each suite houses four residents.   The suites are two bedroom, two bathroom apartments with a large living space.

The apartment building has 24 apartments; 15 two-bedrooms, 8 three-bedrooms, and 1 bedroom.  The two-bedroom apartments have two double rooms available for four residents.  The three-bedroom apartments offer one double and two singles still available for four residents.  The one-bedroom apartment is designed for two residents.

Building Facts
  • Furnished Rooms - Each room is carpeted with either a kitchenette or micro-fridge.  Furniture is provided for the bedroom.  Each apartment/suite is carpeted and has a living room, kitchen, dining room area, bathroom, bedroom(s), and refrigerator. Furniture is provided for the living room, dining area and bedroom(s).

  • Meal Plan Options – Residents who live in the efficiencies, apartments and/or suites are equipped with private kitchens; residents can still participate in the University's board plan in the Dining Hall. Board options range from full board plans, “Carte Blanche” (all you care to eat) or “Transfer” (15 meals a week).  In addition, residents in Almeida can choose from lunch/brunch options designed especially for apartment style residents.
Staff 

Seven Resident Assistants live at King Philip and will be the primary people for residents to contact about facilities and maintenance concerns. A Coordinator of Residence Education oversees the staff and facility. While King Philip offers students the experience of an off-campus residential environment, University policies are still in effect at King Philip
