There are many outlets for students who need assistance. The Center for Student Development is the location of many offices: Residence Life and Housing, Dean of Students Office, Counseling Center, Health Services, Wellness Center, Career Center, and the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards. If your student does not know who may best assist them, the Student Advocacy Office located in the Administration building can be a good starting point.
There are numerous activities and events that are planed for the students. Resident Assistants, the Inter Residence Hall Association (IRHA), Hall Councils, Intramurals, Club & Organizations and Student Programs & Leadership all coordinate events and programs for students on campus.
A CORE (Coordinator of Residence Education) is a professional staff member that lives in each residence hall. The CORE provides guidance and supervision to the student para-professional staff working in the halls. The CORES are available should a student have difficulty adjusting or a roommate conflict.

All new students will receive their assignments during the first week in August. Assignments are emailed directly to the students RWU email accounts. Assignment letters include building and room assignment, roommate(s) name and phone numbers, RWU mailing address, and room phone number.
Roommates are matched by the preferences that your student indicated online. We make every effort to pair students with similar interests and study habits.

Lofts of any kind are not permitted in the residence halls. The University recommends the following vendor http://www.rackraiser.com (note: rackraisers can not be used in temporary triple and other selected rooms. Please contact the Housing Office if you have questions).
The microfridge link will be included in the students assignment letter but feel free to contact them directly at http://www.collegerefrigerators.com/microfridge/order or visit the RWU housing web site for additional information.
All students in traditional halls must subscribe to one of the three full meal plans at the University.
Only limited storage space is provided in the student’s room. We do have a relationship with vendors at the end of the academic year to assist students with packing and storage.
It is a good idea that they call their new roommate(s) and discuss what each should bring to avoid duplication.
