Dating back to 1926, Americans started having festivities during the month of February honoring historic events and accomplishments that came to pass by African-Americans.  The Roger Williams University family joins hands with all those who continue to celebrate the history of African-Americans.

February Celebration of Black History

Throughout the month of February, RWU's IMSA hosts several speakers, films, entertainment groups, etc. to promote the black history on campus. In previous years, IMSA has been apart of hosting the following events: comedian Mark Curry, Mr. George Lima - an original Tuskegee airmen, spoken-work artist - KAYO, and viewing the major motion picture "Ray".
