Campus Visit a campus visit is when we bring registered mentees to Roger Williams University. There are typically five campus visits a semester and they are held bi-weekly.
Campus visits are broken into 3 parts. Part 1: from 2:30-3:30pm is time for Homework, Part 2: from 3:30-4:30pm is time for a Workshop (these topics change each time), Part 3: from 4:30-5:30 is dinner time.
Mentee a mentee is either a high school or middle school student who has completed a Bridge To Success registration packet. Currently we accept students from Rogers High School in Newport, RI, Thompson Middle School in Newport RI, via the Martin Luther King Center in Newport, RI and high school students from the Times² Academy in Providence, RI.
Mentor a mentor is a Roger Williams University student who goes to our various sites to tutor and mentor our mentees. Mentors are selected after an interview at the beginning of the fall semester. All mentors must have a 2.5 GPA or higher to work for Bridge To Success.
Matrix the Bridge To Success Matrix is a our teamwork scheme. All mentors are broken down into groups to ensure quality programming and that all areas of Bridge To Success are met.
Underserved Mentee a mentee who lives in subsidized housing.
Underrepresented Mentee a mentee who is the first in their family to go to college.
Site Visit this is any location Bridge To Success takes mentors to work with mentees. Currently this consist of Rogers High School in Newport, RI, the Martin Luther King Center in Newport, RI and the Times² Academy in Providence, RI.
Field Trip a field trip is when Bridge To Success takes mentors and mentees to a museum or some other educational excursion.
College Tour a college tour is when Bridge To Success takes our mentors and mentees to visit other universities.
