The Command Training Series: Mid-Management Course
will
provide sworn public safety professionals with contemporary, relevant concepts
of management and leadership appropriate to the role responsibilities of the mid
level manager in a modern criminal justice agency. The course will be appropriate
for people typically holding the rank of Lieutenant. Attendees will examine
topics including Emotional Intelligence, Leadership & Management Principles,
Time Management, Organizational & Interpersonal Communications, Organizational
Culture & Change Management, Data Analysis, Planning, & Project Management,
Budgeting, Labor Issues & Legal Research, and Problem Employees & Conflict
Management, as well as Contemporary & Critical Issues. The
program will be presented by experienced academics and law enforcement practitioners.
**The Command Training Series: Mid-Management Course was evaluated
through the Standardized Credit Documentation review process in the Roger Williams
University School of Continuing Studies. Roger Williams University students
seeking the recommended three (3) undergraduate college credits (semester hours)
through the Standardized Credit Documentation process must attain a minimum score
on the post-test, criteria that is beyond that required for attainment of the Certificate
of Completion for the course. Students attending other colleges or universities
may be eligible for the credits upon successful completion of the course consistent
with the Standardized Credit Documentation Policy of the college or university in
which they are enrolled.**
The cost for the seminar is $1450.00 per person for agencies whose chiefs are current NEACOP members ($1600.00 per person for non-members) which includes textbook, materials, breaks and lunches. Travel, lodging and evening meals are the responsibility of the attendee; however area hotels have provided a special rate for personnel in attendance at this course.
