School of Law Commencement, Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1:00pm
Undergraduate/Graduate Commencement, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 9:30am
Given the impact of construction on parking for both ceremonies as well as the largest graduating class in RWU history for Saturday’s ceremony, we ask that ALL faculty, staff and remaining students adhere to the following parking directives (only exception are those with handicap placards):
Beginning at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, the following lots will be closed. Violators will be towed.
Effective Thursday (May 21st) at 6:00 pm, all students remaining on campus are required to park on the third level of the Parking Garage.
Friday, May 22, 2009
ALL University employees (with the exception of those with handicap parking placards), including School of Law employees, will not be allowed to park in Lots 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 24A, F, H, I or J to allow for Law School graduates and their guests to park for the ceremony. Employees who normally park in the lots mentioned above are directed to park in either of the two lots on Old Ferry Road (Lot 25 or Lot A/Commuter Lot).
Shuttles will run from these lots 7:30 am - 9:30 am and 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. You may board the shuttles in the morning at the shuttle stop in front of Stonewall 4 or the gazebo by the Willow gate. For the afternoon return, you may board at the shuttle stop to the rear/East side of The Commons.
Saturday, May 23, 2009
All University employees are directed to park at off-site locations as parking on campus will be reserved for graduates and their guests (with exception of those with handicap parking placards). Employees may choose to park at Mount Hope Farm on Rt. 136 (Metacom Avenue) or Baypoint Inn and Conference Center off of Rt. 24.
Shuttles will be provided from these locations 5:00 am - 10:30 am and 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm. Shuttles will run on a continuous loop during the times mentioned above. University employees are encouraged to carpool. Please allow yourself enough time to park at the location and ride a shuttle to campus.
Inner Campus Shuttle Stops – J Lot, rear shuttle stop behind The Commons (Admissions side) and Stonewall/Willow shuttle stop.
Mount Hope Farm Shuttle Stop – Mount Hope Farm and in front of Campus Recreation Center.
Baypoint Shuttle Stop – Baypoint Inn & Conference Center and Mailroom.
Many of you will remember that we implemented a similar parking plan three years ago and it worked well as everyone cooperated with the directives. It is critical that everyone adhere to these instructions so we have enough parking for our graduates and their guests. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Questions or concerns may be directed to Chelsie Horne at x4652 for School of Law or Allison Chase Padula at x3067 for Undergraduate/Graduate.
