Each year, the University, the School of Law and the Public Interest Auction fund a Public Interest Summer Stipend Program for law students. The goal of the program is to provide stipends to law students who have a deep commitment to public interest work, which is often unpaid. These experiences offer students the opportunity to enhance their legal education with meaningful employment while contributing valuable legal services to the community. This Public Interest Auction has become a signature Law School event where students, alumni, lawyers, judges and members of the community come together to support a great cause. This year, the event is scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2013 in the Grand Ballroom of the Providence Biltmore Hotel.
