Robert H. Avery, Esq.
General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs

In 2003, Robert Avery came to Roger Williams after 13 years at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he served as vice president, general counsel and secretary to the board of trustees. In this position, he directed the office of legal and employment affairs and the department of human resources. Prior to joining NJIT, Mr. Avery was associate general counsel for Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich.

Earning both his bachelor's and juris doctor degrees from Syracuse University, Mr. Avery received Academic All-American honors and an NCAA post graduate scholarship as captain of the university's football team. He is a member of the New York State Athletic Council Hall of Fame.
