Please note: You will have to pay your tuition and housing deposits prior to registering for Orientation.
Orientation Check-In will be between 9 am and 11:30 am in the Global Heritage Hall, Main Lobby. The program will conclude around 5 pm on the first day, and about 2 pm on the second day. Students are required to attend all sessions on Monday and Tuesday.
If you are living on campus, we ask you to arrive between 9-11:30am to move into your residence hall. Please contact the Department of Residence Life & Housing at 401-254-3161 with any further housing questions.
If you are a commuter student, please plan to arrive by 11:00 to check in for the orientation program.
Day one, students will meet our Orientation Advisors who will guide them through what it means to be a new student at Roger Williams. Right from the beginning students have the opportunity to meet and talk with other new students in similar majors and begin to form lasting connections. The day is filled with informational sessions as well as small group meetings led by the Orientation Advisors. The small group meetings consist of activities and discussions that will connect each new student to the University. Students living on campus will spend the night in their Residence Halls and commuter students will have the option to join us for evening activities.
Day two, students will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor and select courses for the semester. Students will complete the day with our Orientation Team.
Family members are invited to join the Orientation Team for the Family Orientation program on Monday, January 23. Family members will also participate in a variety of sessions during the first day of orientation. Our goal is to help you create connections to the campus community and to help identify resources that may be important for you or your student’s experience.
Orientation at RWU ensures that all new students make great connections and that you are excited to begin your first semester as an RWU student! We look forward to seeing you in January!
