The Area

Roger Williams University is located in an area that is alive with activity, charm, and historical significance.

The town of Bristol is a quaint seaport community surrounded by the waters of Mt. Hope and Narragansett Bays. Outdoor activities are plentiful - you can sail or windsurf, or take a jog or a bike ride along the 14-mile East Bay Bike Path. Or, you can also spend time enjoying the many shops and cafés in the town's center.

A short distance from campus, you'll find Providence - New England's "Renaissance City."  From the great shopping on Thayer Street and in the Providence Place Mall, to the museum exhibits and cultural festivals that take place throughout the year, or the wonderful Italian restaurants on the city's famed Federal Hill - it's easy to see why Providence has been declared "The Best Place to Live in the East." And our proximity to Boston and New York City will only add to your quality of life here.

Whether you're touring the historic mansions of nearby Newport, relaxing on the sands of one of the state's many beaches, or hopping a ferry to Block Island for a weekend of biking, Rhode Island is the perfect place to spend your college years.
