Tuition and Housing Deposits
If you are offered admission to Roger Williams University, you will receive a Welcome to Roger Williams University packet, which will provide you with information regarding orientation and housing. To secure the offer of admission we require a $200 tuition deposit. If you will be living in University housing, we require a $350 housing deposit.
Deposit deadlines will be assigned relative to the date of the offer of admission. Once your deposits and International Student Financial Statement are received, we will issue your I-20.
Please note that Roger Williams University requires all first and second year students to reside in University Housing. Those students commuting from home and transfer students with more than 54 credits are excluded from this requirement.
Advising and Registration
A special orientation day for international students will be held a few days before classes begin. Information on immigration, University and student services, and the community will be given at this time.
The orientation program is an opportunity to meet people who can answer your questions. You will also meet with your advisor and register for classes at this time. Before your arrival at RWU, you will be sent important information that will help make your transition successful.
The University offers student housing to suit a variety of preferences, including coed floors/units; substance-free; special interest units; single, double, triple, 4 person and 5-person rooms; and apartments. Several University residence halls overlook the gentle, protected waters of Mount Hope Bay, a popular haven for local boaters and a relaxing diversion for students who live here.
While most University housing is closed during vacation and holiday periods, assistance in locating temporary housing is available through the Office of International Student Programs and Services and the Housing Office. Sixty-one trained paraprofessional upper-class resident assistants (RAs) and five professional coordinators of residence education, assisted by the Student Life central staff, work to create a living-learning environment.
