Bridge to Success (BTS) Mentor

Special Skills Needed:
Mentors need to be able to provide advice and support to, watch over and foster the progress of, younger, less experienced high school students. Must be dedicated and committed, responsible leader whose influence will be realized on campus and in the community. BTS Mentors must be academically sound (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater) as they are representatives of RWU, the Intercultural Center, and role models to the Mentees.

Job Description:
BTS Mentors are trained to facilitate in-school and after school programs that include tutoring and homework assistance, recreational activities, RWU campus visits, New England are college tours, and arts and cultural events. Through the Mentors, the Mentees see themselves first as future college students and then see the possibilities of their own career success. Mentors average 12 to 15 hours of work per week. They are required to attend Mentor meetings, committee meetings, and 1 – 2 school site visits per week. Pay rate for Mentors is $7.90.
