Special Skills Needed:
Experience in writing effectively for diverse audiences, meeting project deadlines, editing, proof-reading, and collaborating with graphic designers and fluency in associated computer software. Ability to make high-quality digital photographs, especially of people and large events is a plus.

Job Description:
The Roger Williams University Community Partnerships Center (CPC) delivers project-based, trans-disciplinary services to organizations and communities in RI and Southeastern Massachusetts. These community partnerships broaden and deepen the academic experiences of RWU students by allowing them to work on real-world projects, collaborating with residents and citizens.  CPC projects focus on elements of the built environment, but are transdisciplinary and to bring in components of our environmental, construction management, engineering and history programs and may others, as well as the RWU School of Law.

The CPC Staff Writer will assist the Director of the CPC with the following tasks:

  • Creation of CPC project reports (with team)
  • Creation of CPC project sheets (with team)
  • Project-based research
  • Creation of information briefs for community partners and members of the public (with team)
  • Support for overall CPC operations
  • Photography at CPC projects and events
  • Assistance with coordination of CPC events

Academic Majors Preferred:  
Communications (with focus in Writing, Journalism, and/or Public Relations). Academic and practical experience in Graphic Design and Photography is a plus.
