Types of Aid

Roger Williams offers both need- and merit-based aid.

All incoming students are eligible for merit-based aid that will be determined by the level of academic rigor of their high school curriculum, cumulative GPA, and either standardized test scores* or a graded piece of high school work that they are most proud of or a short written statement on a predetermined topic.

RWU merit scholarships are renewed each year as long as the student meets certain academic requirements.

The average new student financial aid package is $20,819. (Please note this includes student loans and work study.)

Not sure if you’re eligible for financial aid? You never know until you apply!

Of RWU students who filed the FAFSA:

  • 22% have family incomes under $50,000
  • 24% have incomes between $50,000 and $100,000
  • 24% have incomes between $100,000 and $150,000
  • 30% have family incomes over $150,000

RWU awarded over $37 million in financial aid to students this year alone.
