Peer Mentoring

Many colleges and universities support their first year students through assigned peer mentors.  Mentoring is a process where older and more experienced students pass on their knowledge and skills to first year students.  In addition to this traditional definition, mentoring is becoming a critical component to the success of incoming freshmen. The Student Advocacy Office offers peer mentoring to new students.

Starting in the Fall of 2006, all incoming first-year students will be assigned a Student Advocate mentor.  If you would like more information regarding mentoring, or your Student Advocate, please contact the office at 401-254-3390 or extension 3390.
