2009/2010 Corps Inducted in October

The Feinstein Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement is proud to announce the 2009/2010 AmeriCorps Scholarships for Service Corps at Roger Williams University. This year’s corps of 13 undergraduate students was inducted into the program on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2009.  The RWU SFS corps is:

Katelyn Morrisino- Bristol READS!
Jessica Olcott- Bristol READS!
Adam Semple- Norman Bird Sanctuary
Kayla Silva- Bristol READS!
Brandon Soum- Winter Internship

Each student will engage in a minimum of 300 hours of service to the community and will earn an education award of $1,000 for their efforts. More than 54 students have successfully completed Scholarships for Service since Roger Williams University first facilitated the program during the 2005/2006 academic year, earning $54,000 in education awards for current or future study. 

Scholarships for Service is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service and supported locally by the R.I. Campus Compact (www.compact.org/ricompact/)  and Rhode Island Service Alliance.
