1. Review
Review the course offerings available under the “Current Schedules” tab to the right and compare them to the remaining course requirements needed to complete your academic program, as indicated on your degree plan.
2. Contact Your Advisor
All students must obtain approval from their Advisor before the SCS can process a registration card. You can arrange either a face-to-face or telephone appointment with your Advisor by calling the SCS office at (401) 254-3530 or by contacting your Advisor directly by telephone or e-mail. If you are not sure who your Advisor is, please call the SCS office.
3. Select Your Classes
In consultation with your Advisor, select your classes for the upcoming semester. The earlier you register the better chance you will have of getting registered for your 1st choices.
4. Become Familiar with Financial Responsibilities/Requirements
You are not allowed to register if your RWU account has an outstanding balance. If your tuition is paid by a 3rd party, such as an employer, be sure that you have this arrangement established with the RWU Bursar’s office. As soon as you know the classes for which you will register, complete any necessary paperwork for your employer, eg. Tuition Vouchers, Tuition Assistance Forms. If you are receiving Financial Aid, be sure that the RWU Financial Aid Office has everything they need to complete your aid package. The Financial Aid Office is extremely busy; you will fare better if you are proactive and contact them early to ensure they have all that they need. Please do not wait for them to contact you.
5. Decide How You Will Register
SCS continuing students have the option for registering for their courses either in-person, through their Advisor or on-line through their “myRWU” account. If you decide to register in-person, you will discuss your class options with your Advisor in-person, by phone or by e-mail and then your advisor will complete your registration card and submit it to the SCS office for processing. If you decide to register on-line, you will discuss your class options with your Advisor and then you will log on to “myRWU” and self-register. Instructions for on-line registrations can be found under the “Online Registration” tab to the right. Please note that new students and those Auditing classes must register in person.
