All prospective students, including those not seeking a degree, must file a formal application. Degree candidates must follow all application procedures, including providing a transcript of secondary school work, and/or a record of high school equivalency test scores (G.E.D.), and college transcripts of other colleges attended where appropriate.
Prospective students who do not have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate may take courses for credit with permission of the instructor, but cannot be considered as degree candidates until the G.E.D. examinations have been successfully completed and the student applies for admission to a degree program. Students interested in a distance learning program must have advanced academic standing, a record of successful previous college attendance and/or a record of creditable employment experience.
Steps for Admission to the School of Continuing Studies:
- Contact the School of Continuing Studies to arrange a meeting (telephone or face-to-face) with an SCS Advisor to evaluate your existing credits and develop a preliminary degree plan to assist with your enrollment decision. There is no financial obligation required.
- Once you have made the decision to enroll at RWU or if you are enrolling as a non-matriculating student, complete an Application for Admission.

- Submit an official high school transcript or grade results of G.E.D.
- Submit official transcripts of prior college attendance, if applicable (For purposes of preliminary evaluation, either official or unofficial transcripts may be forwarded)
- Submit official documentation of military training and experience, if applicable
- Submit official documentation of CLEP or DANTES exam results, if applicable.
