Julia Bernert, Director, jbernert@rwu.edu
The Summer Academy in Architecture is an intensive 4 week program for high school students who have completed their junior year of study. The Academy provides a broad and multi-faceted framework for students to explore future study and careers in architecture.
Areas of study include Drawing, Architectural Design Studio, Computer Graphics Studio, Sustainable Design, and Topical Lectures. Visits to architects offices, and weekly field trips to great architecture in the Northeast are an integral part of the Academy experience. Students explore architecture as an education and as a career, and receive guidance in portfolio preparation for college applications.
The Summer Academy is taught by faculty of the Roger Williams University School of Architecture, Art, and Historic Preservation, led by Julia Bernert, Director. Supervised dormitory life, with student activities programming on evenings and weekends, is included in the program.
The 2008 Summer Academy will be held from July 6-August 2, 2008. The 2008 Comprehensive Fee to attend the academy is $3900 inclusive of tuition, housing and meals. Application with non-refundable $300 deposit due by May 15th, 2008. Balance of comprehensive program fees due by June 15th, 2008.
