About
Accreditiation

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business announced its accreditation of Roger Williams University's business programs on December 22, 2005. This accreditation is the highest possible in business education and caps a five-year initiative by the Gabelli School of Business to make major investments and improvements in the quality of the business programs.

AACSB-International is the premier accrediting body for business programs worldwide.  "AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution involved in management education," said John J. Fernandes, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International. "The faculties, deans, directors, and administrative staffs of our newly accredited schools are to be commended for their role in earning initial accreditation."

Only 555 institutions have earned AACSB International accreditation for their business schools. Less than 10 percent of schools worldwide have achieved this designation. Of the 113 schools in the New England area which offer business degrees, only 30 offer AACSB accredited undergraduate programs.

AACSB accreditation is an important external validation of the quality of our curriculum, faculty, and students. It means that we are accountable to our constituents, including our students, their parents, employers and alumni, for offering a degree with value and a relevant curriculum and for effective management of the program.
