Upon acceptance to the University, transfer students are expected to have an official copy of their most recent transcript sent to the RWU Office of Admissions. This document is sent to the RWU Registrar's Office for evaluation.
As part of the evaluation process, the Math Department Chairman reviews the transcript for math courses taken at other colleges. If equivalent RWU courses exist, they are given an RWU equivalency and the student is given the appropriate course credit.
Please remember that the grade of C or better is required for a course to transfer to RWU.
Placement Process
While reviewing the math courses taken by a transfer student, the FCAS Placement Coordinator will determine which, if any, are applicable to the student's major. If transfer students have successfully completed one or more courses required by the Core Curriculum and/or their major, their math placement will reflect that fact. If transfer students have not successfully completed any of the math courses required by their major, they will be given the same opportunities for placement as a new freshman would receive.
