Because you took the RWU Math Placement Test, your computer has already loaded the ALEKS plug-in.
To access the Retest, you must go to the ALEKS homepage (www.aleks.com) and enter as a new user, so as to be assigned a new login and password for use in the Retest. When prompted, you will enter the Retest Course Code below and provide registration information.
If you need to stop mid-retest, you can re-enter the Retest at the exact place where you stopped work. To do this, return to the ALEKS homepage and enter the login and password that you were assigned for the Retest.

The Course Confirm Screen should include the following information:
- Course: RWU Math Placement Retest
- Subject: College Algebra with Trigonometry
- Instructor: Prof. Confort 2008
- School: Roger Williams University
You do not need to complete the tutorial again, unless you want to. By hitting the next button twice, on the questions in the tutorial, you can proceed through the tutorial without answering the questions.

When you complete your Retest, please email Patricia F. Confort, FCAS Placement Coordinator at pconfort@rwu.edu. She will review your results and contact you about any changes to your placement.
The RWU Math Placement Retest will be available from Sunday, July 13 until Wednesday, July 16 at midnight (Eastern Time).

To access the RWU Math Placement Retest, you must go to the ALEKS homepage (www.aleks.com) and enter as a new user. Subsequent screens will ask you to enter the course code listed below and to provide personal information for registration. You will be assigned a login and password that is good for the Retest only.
After your registration is complete, the ALEKS system will install a plug-in on your computer so that you can run the test. If your computer has anti-virus software or spy-ware, it may not let you install the plug-in until those products have been turned off. You must restart your browser after the plug-in has been properly installed. Then you can re-enter the ALEKS system using the password and login that you were just given for the Retest.
If you need to stop mid-retest, you can re-enter the Retest at the exact place where you stopped work. To do this, return to the ALEKS homepage (www.aleks.com) and enter the login and password that you were assigned the first time that you entered Retest.
Step-by-Step Registration Instructions for the Retest
- Using Internet Explorer or Netscape, go to the ALEKS homepage at www.aleks.com. Do not use AOL as your browser for this test.
- Your curser is flashing in the grey box on the left side of your screen. Above that box is the access point for new users. Please click there.
- In the left box, please enter the following course code: DHKJY D3AEG
Click on continue.
You have now entered the ALEKS testing system. Please notice that the four steps for registration are printed under the word ALEKS at the top of your screen.
Step 1: Confirm Course Code
The box on this screen should include the following information.
- Course: RWU Math Placement Retest
- Subject: College Algebra with Trigonometry
- Instructor: Prof. Confort 2008
- School: Roger Williams University
- Click on continue.
Step 2: Personal Information
Please enter your first and last name in the areas provided. Use the same name that you used on your RWU application.
- Also, please enter an email address that you use often. We need this information to contact you if there are questions about your test.
- Do not enter a school ID number.
- Scroll down this page and click in the box next to “I have read and agree to the terms of the ALEKS Usage Agreement.”
- Click on continue.
Step 3: Account Creation
You will find your Retest login name and password in the box on this screen. Write this information down so that you can re-enter the Retest if you do not finish it in one session. This account will be terminated once the Retest is completed.
Click on continue.
Step 4: Registration Complete
Click on continue to download the plug-in.
Installing the ALEKS plug-in
A Security Warning box will appear on your screen. Click “yes” and wait a few minutes as the plug-in is installed. If it won’t install, you many not have the correct JAVA version on your computer, JAVA did not install properly or your computer’s anti-virus software is blocking installation. Check the Technical Notes offered on this site or contact support@aleks.com
Restart your browser. If you are using cable internet, you will have to restart your computer.
Return to the ALEKS homepage (www.aleks.com) and enter the password and login that you were given for the Retest. See Step 3, above.
Congratulations, you have successfully entered the Retest!
You are now in the ALEKS software tutorial that precedes each test. This includes approximately ten examples to familiarize you with the techniques used to input your answers.
After completing the tutorial, you will enter the Retest itself. The Retest is untimed. Work carefully. You will know that you are at the end of the Retest when you see the circle graphs that indicate the areas of your knowledge.
When you are done with the Retest, exit out of the test and ALEKS. The results of the Retest will be automatically sent to RWU.
