Undeclared Arts & Sciences
Math Requirement: Varies, based on the major that the student eventually selects.
Course Prerequisites: Varies, based on the prerequisites of the courses in the major that the student eventually selects.
Math Testing Requirement: We recommend that students who are currently classified as Undeclared Arts and Sciences take a math placement test if they are leaning toward a major that requires such testing. If a student is not leaning toward such a major, no testing is required. To learn about the testing requirements of other majors, review the information at this site.
Note: Students who are classified as Undeclared Arts and Sciences usually don't take a math course during the first semester of their freshman year. In general, they wait until they have selected a major and take the course or courses required by that major. This helps students avoid taking math courses that don't count for their major.
