Math Courses & Requirements
Major

Undeclared Arts & Sciences

Math Requirement:  Varies, based on the major that the student eventually selects.

Course Prerequisites:  Varies, based on the prerequisites of the courses in the major that the student eventually selects.

Math Testing Requirement: We recommend that students who are currently classified as Undeclared Arts and Sciences take a math placement test if they are leaning toward a major that requires such testing.  If a student is not leaning toward such a major, no testing is required.  To learn about the testing requirements of other majors, review the information at this site.

Note:  Students who are classified as Undeclared Arts and Sciences usually don't take a math course during the first semester of their freshman year.  In general, they wait until they have selected a major and take the course or courses required by that major. This helps students avoid taking math courses that don't count for their major.
