    The School of Justice Studies (SJS) is dedicated to providing students with a top quality, well-rounded education that will prepare them to successfully meet the challenges facing modern justice system professionals. Because the disciplines in SJS are applied sciences, the School has a close relationship with members of the criminal justice community—making your education even more relevant through professional experience.

    Justice System Training and Research Institute

    The Institute serves as a national model for integrating current research and state-of-the-art technology with the needs of the justice system, and is a great opportunity for our students to interact with professionals in the field.

    Hands-on Opportunities

    From field hours at the Legal Advocacy Clinic in Newport to an internship with a police agency, to hacking computer systems and rebuilding computers, all majors in the School of Justice Studies have hands-on opportunities prior to graduation.

    Joint Degree Programs

    The School of Justice Studies offers a 3+3 program which is a joint BS/JD in Legal Studies and Law, a 4+1 program which is a BS/MS in Criminal Justice, and a joint MS/JD in Criminal Justice and Law.
