Bonnie Taylor has been living and working in RI for 7 years. She grew up in Maine, and has been a student for 26 years and a teacher for 9. While she originally trained to be a high school/middle school English teacher, she has learned that it is not the content so much as the process that is important in learning. She is completing a master’s program in special education this summer. Her expertise has moved from literature and grammar to the learning process and she is one of the leaders in LD instruction for the adult education industry in Rhode Island. She has extensive experience in workforce training and using team teaching in the classroom. She also teaches ESOL to adults at the Genesis Center in South Providence and secondary education credential preparation classes at the Community College of RI. She was trained by the Office of Vocational and Adult Education and is a nationally certified trainer for the “Learning To Achieve” modules, a program which helps prepare educators working with adults with learning disabilities. She loves learning anything and believes that all have strengths to bring to the table of life, some of us just need help in discovering them.
