Model Essays For Expository Writing

The Writing Center is proud to present a Preface and several analytical essays from Expository Writing students.  We have decided not to correct any minor grammatical or structural errors.  We apologize to the authors if, in typing these essays into the website, we have created any errors where there were none.  The analytical essays in this portfolio follow the PIE paragraph format and use the most common rhetorical strategies in Expository Writing (e.g., language, style, support, sense of audience, logical fallacies).  The students earned an "A" for their portfolios.

It is considered plagiarism to copy phrases or sentences from these essays!  students who violate the academic integrity of the University will be referred to the appropriate academic dean.  These essays are intended for use as models of the Pie Paragraph Structure, of the development necessary at the "E" level, of the MLA documentation system, and of superior sentence structure/mechanics.
