Center For Academic Development

The Center for Academic Development is located on the 2nd floor of the University Library.

The CAD is comprised of the three tutoring Centers--Math, Writing, and Core--as well as Disability Support Services and academic support.

The tutoring centers are open Mondays-Thursdays from 9 am - 8 pm; Fridays 9 am - 3 pm; Sundays 2 pm - 8 pm.  This schedule may be adjusted according to the academic calendar and holidays. In order to work with a peer tutor, students can simply walk in with their assignment. In order to see a faculty tutor in Math or Writing, students are strongly encouraged to make an appointment. The appointment book is on the secretary's desk when you first walk into the CAD.

Disability Supports Services (DSS) povides assistance to students with documented disabilities.  Please see the link to DSS on this page for further information. DSS is open Monday-Friday from 8 am - 5 pm.

The CAD staff practices the theory that student learning takes place through interactions with other students as well as staff and that students learn in and out of the classroom.

In an environment conducive to academic discourse, critical thinking, independent learning and collegiate leadership, the CAD staff and tutors demonstrate the University's stated mission that we are a "community devoted to teaching and learning."
