While the beautiful campus may have closed the deal for Vivienne, she chose RWU for the variety of majors, personal attention and the many opportunities available on and off campus.  As a member of the University Honors Program, engineering tutor and part of the SOAR Leadership program, Vivienne took advantage of all RWU has to offer, but it’s her membership in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) that was the most influential. Thanks to SWE, Vivienne attended national conferences in Long Beach, Calif. and Orlando, Fla. where she made connections in her field and landed an internship with ITT Corporation working on GPS satellites. After another internship at BAE Systems, Vivienne is headed to graduate school for robotics at the University of Pennsylvania.

What was the best thing about studying at RWU?

"My favorite thing about my program is the student to teacher ratio.  All of my professors know me, and they are always available for extra class help, or even just to talk.  I have gone to my academic advisor, Linda Riley, for various problems outside of the classroom, and Dean Potter jokes with me on a regular basis. I know that I would not get this type of personal interaction at most other schools, and their availability has really helped me to do my best at RWU."
