No stranger to balancing academics and real-world experience, EJ came to RWU through the University’s Learn-Apply-Build Scholarship Program – a work/study partnership with the MET Center, Community College of Rhode Island and Gilbane Building Company.  A motivated student, EJ jumped at the chance to explore the field of Construction Management and gain hands-on experience through internships and summer work while completing his degree. EJ is now beginning his sixth year of on-the-job experience with Gilbane, one of the nation’s largest building contractors, and will be a superintendent with the company after commencement. He’s tackled huge jobs like the T.F. Green Airport Interlink and a $250 million project for Fidelity Investments – all as an undergraduate. Far from one-dimensional, EJ is also an RA, the president of the Sigma Lambda Chi honor society and involved with the ACE Mentor Program with local Rhode Island high school students. EJ is building a strong future for himself. What will you do?
