Roger Williams University's new 124,000-square-foot Campus Recreation Center opened in September 2003. The addition to the Campus Recreation Center - and renovation of the 20-year-old existing building - creates a campus wide site for student recreations and activities. The Office of Campus Programs, the school's radio station (WQRI), student club offices, the Student Senate Chambers and the commuter lounge will be located in the renovated section of the building.

The new portion of the building boasts an eight-lane swimming pool, a wood-floor gymnasium with seating for 1,200 spectators, racquetball and squash courts, dance and aerobic rooms, and a 9,000-square-foot fitness center. The facility will help enhance the university community's opportunities for health and well-being.
