The fundamental mission of the Office of Institutional Research (IR) is to provide central information and analytical support for university decision making, planning, enrollment management, and assessment activities to help Roger Williams University fulfill its mission. In this capacity, IR assumes primary responsibility for analyzing and interpreting data about the performance of the university. IR supplies data for strategic direction and to improve competitive advantage for RWU.

Transforming data into information and business intelligence is the major focus of the Office of Institutional Research. IR communicates accurate and consistent information to the University community and is the official source for external reporting.
