Denny Moers is recipient of 2013 RISCA Fellowship in Photography

Visual Arts Studies Adjunct Faculty Denny Moers has received a 2013 Rhode Island State Council for the Arts (RISCA) Fellowship in Photography. 

Comments from the awards reviewers included:

“The panel was most impressed with the images 'Trees in Flooded Lake', 'Birds in Flight over Flooded Field', and 'Lake with Buoys'. Because these are some of this artist's most recent images, the panel was enthusiastic about the direction that the work is heading.The photographs were described as 'very process oriented', but the process is appropriate for the subject matter and the panel was interested in both. Some images were described as serene while others felt almost 'apocalyptic', yet all were equally beautiful. This photographer is not just snapping digital images. This is a highly involved and deliberate photographic process that he has mastered and is continuing to push.”
