5th year Architecture student Brad Postian was one of seven winners of the 2016 Robert Bradford Newman Medal in Architectural Acoustics from the Acoustical Society of America. Postian received the award in recognition of work done in 2015 in Arch 332 Acoustics & Lighting, taught by RWU Professor Jeffrey Staats. The Newman Medal recognizes excellence in study of acoustics and its application to architecture. The program honors outstanding students at schools of architecture and architectural engineering throughout the world. Students selected for the award must have demonstrated excellence in this discipline and in the application of acoustical design principles in the course of their study. Other 2016 Newman Medal Winners include students from the University of Idaho, Virginia Polytechnic University, the University of Nebraska, the University of Kansas, and London Southbank University.
