Emerging Artist Program enters 5th year in Summer 2016

5 students from Mt. Hope High School are participating in RWU Art coursework in Summer 2016, beginning the fifth year of this partnership with the Town of Bristol. Mt. Hope students are able to enroll in first year coursework in drawing, figure drawing, photography and sculpture in Fall, Winter, Spring. Lilya Krys-Burhoe is teaching this Summer 2016.

49 Bristol-Warren High School Emerging Artists hosted at RWU since 2012

RWU’s Emerging Artists Program has now hosted 49 Mount Hope High School students in RWU Visual Arts Studies courses in the three years that the program has been offered since 2012. The program reserves spaces for up to four High School students during Fall, Spring and Summer semester courses in Drawing, Figure Drawing, Painting, Photography and Sculpture alongside RWU undergraduate students. Initially organized by Professor Michael Rich, the program allows student in the Bristol-Warren district to enroll in college level courses for a $100 registration fee. Student work has been outstanding, as the participants test their abilities at the college level.
