The primary mission of the Roger Williams University Department of Public Safety is to provide a safe and secure campus for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. To effectuate this mission, the Department of Public Safety strives to provide quality security, safety and crime prevention services that meet the needs and standards of a progressive academic institution.

These services are provided 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week and consist of limited campus access control, vehicular, foot and bicycle patrols, safety escorts, shuttle services, and enforcement of parking regulations. Maintaining a secure and safe campus environment is accomplished through a cooperative effort of the entire University community.

Therefore, the Department of Public Safety encourages all persons, who are on our beautiful campus, to be aware of their surroundings and assist in making security and safety a matter of routine in their activities.
