Content Management System (CMS) Websites
For websites or webpages within the CMS (official administrative/academic university websites), templates ensure consistency over the web site.
For that purpose, new templates have been developed for the University's web redesign that can be used within the University's CMS. These templates contain all of the required elements of the University's web identity and they follow the RWU standards & guidelines for web development.
These templates are not available directly for download, instead, they require a login to the CMS to utilize them to build out a website. On request, Web & Electronic communications can provide training on how to use them. To request this service, please visit our Web Services Request Form.
Non-Content Management System (CMS) Websites
For websites or webpages outside of the CMS, the following standards & guidelines apply:
The Header
The header groups the appropriate University logo and any "help" links on the top. Specifically, the elements that should appear in the header are:
- University or University School or University Division Logo (links to home)
- Title of Website (if applicable)
- Contact Us (link to contact page)
- Search
- Audience Gateway Navigation* (if applicable)
* This navigation is divided into links that direct users to pages which group links together that orient the visitors to the main sites on the RWU.edu domain based on who they are.
The Footer
- University Logo & Link ( www.rwu.edu)
- University Sites Index & Guide Link (www.rwu.edu/sites)
- Legal & Privacy Policy Link (www.rwu.edu/using/legal)

Minimum Requirements
Whether your website is using the templates or not, official sites that are part of the RWU.edu domain have to meet the following requirements:
The Header
- Presence of the appropriate University or School or Division logo on the top left of each page, linking back to the home page.
The Footer
- University logo that links to the University homepage
- 'Contact the Webmaster' Link (to a person who owns the website)
- Legal & Privacy Link
- University Copyright Notice
