Established in May of 2004 after the hiring of the University's first Webmaster, the Office of Web & Electronic Communications is primarily responsible for managing the interface and infrastructure of the RWU.EDU web space, its web servers and its web & electronic communications services.
Additionally, the Office also manages the University's Web Developers Group, and chairs the Web Advisory Council.
Mission
The mission of Web & Electronic Communications is to support the University's broader mission, its goals for marketing and communications and to enhance the University's value to its many audiences through the use of the web and its technology.
Goals
Goals for Web & Electronic Communications include the following:
- Provide direction and strategy for the RWU web
- Provide and maintain standards for the RWU web in the areas of branding, usability, accessibility, development methodology and technology
- Provide a resource for the community regarding the design, development and management of web & electronic communications materials
- Provide and maintain an information and communications infrastructure that supports the University's mission and ongoing efforts
- Enhance communications across and to the University's many audiences via the web
