Who we are and how we can help
The Department of Marketing & Communications coordinates and oversees the marketing and communications efforts of the university, and provides timely information to its internal and external audiences. Its goal is to increase public awareness of the university through effective marketing principles and communication strategies that enhance Roger Williams University's image with a consistent, unified message.
Marketing & Communications produces a wide range of publications & electronic communications for all university offices and departments including advertisements, brochures, booklets, posters, newsletters, business cards, stationery, catalogues, websites and forms.
The office provides graphic design, writing and editorial services, and web and electronic communication services to the university community at no charge, and hires freelance designers, illustrators, and photographers as needed.
All university printing is placed through this office whether printed on campus or through an outside vendor, with the exception of stationery and forms, which may be ordered directly through the mailroom.
Our Vision
The Department of Marketing & Communications is committed to furthering the mission of the university through sound principles of marketing and communication and by providing strategic advice to our various constituents.
We are prepared for change and strive to stay current in the field of marketing and communications. We recognize that our success as a department is dependent upon our working together as a team, and we believe in providing a nurturing environment where people are allowed to be creative.
How We Can Help
If you are reprinting a current publication, redesigning an old publication, or creating a new publication or website, it is very important that your project is scheduled well in advance in order to achieve the best results.
You are encouraged to schedule an appointment with the Department of Marketing & Communications to discuss your publication, set a timetable, review design and cost options, and decide how the piece is to be distributed.
We have included Project and Planning Guidelines on the following pages. It is meant to be just that, a guideline. It includes information that is necessary in the production of a job, from "who do I contact," to "how long does it take for a typical job to be produced."
We hope this information is helpful and look forward to working with you.
